School System announcements affecting Breckenridge
Sunday, 16 November 2008 12:49

As you all might know, the Wake County Public School System released the draft reassignment program for 2009-10; 2010-11; and 2011-12.  While the Morrisville Town Council has no direct role in these plans, I think it is our role to facilitate information gathering by our citizens.

Breckenridge comprises two (2) nodes - 628.1 and 628.2, respectively.

There are no changes to the plans for High School (Panther Creek) during the 2009-2012.

However, the 2010-11 school year will move the two Breckenridge nodes from West Cary Middle to Mills Park Middle; and from Cedar Fork Elementary to Alston Ridge Elementary.

The proposal for the two nodes may be viewed at:

Important Notices!
Friday, 24 October 2008 16:19

Starting Wednesday, October 29, you will need your swipe card to access the tennis courts. It is the same card that you use to access the pool during pool season. Once the system is activated, you must have a card to enter the courts. If you need a card, please call York Properties at 821-1350.

On Thursday, October 30th, the Breckenridge Swim and Tennis Club lot will be closed for an application of a PDC coat and re-strip. The lot will reopen in the afternoon on October 31st. While the lot is closed, please do not drive, walk, ride bikes or skate boards on the lot. PDC adheres to all surfaces it touches. This means that it will stick to pet’s feet, shoes and bike tires. Vehicles will ruin the PDC coat if it has not had time to cure.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Palak Patel goes green!
Tuesday, 21 October 2008 20:28

This is Palak Patel.  Palak is a high school student and Breckenridge resident.  She is volunteering her time as part of a school project to clean up some of the water sheds in Breckenridge.  I had the pleasure of meeting with Palak and discussing her willingness to serve our community.  I am so happy to see young people care so deeply about our environment!

I think this is a great service and inspiration to our continued attempt to be a greener neighborhood!
- Vance Campbell

"I am currently enrolled in AP Environmental Science at Panther Creek High School. This course requires us to do 10 service hours a quarter. The hours require involvement in some sort of environmentally related work. I chose to help out in the neighborhood and get involved at the same time. It is very important for us to keep our neighborhood clean and environmentally friendly. It was a great experience for me and hope to get involved again soon!"

State of the HOA
Wednesday, 08 October 2008 09:15

TO ALL  BRECKENRIDGE RESIDENTS:

2008 has been a busy year for Breckenridge. Your HOA has accomplished a great deal.

We have:

  • Installed a new and more secure fence
  • Awnings and reflective screens at the tennis pavilion
  • Kiddie pool enhancements
  • Sitting benches, grounds and landscape improvements
  • Additional security measures have recently been installed as well
  • We have also painted the clubhouse
  • “The old” basketball area has been replaced with a new and exciting recreation area including a “climbing wall” and new trees, and benches
  • Tennis lessons are now scheduled and working well with our new tennis Pro
  • Bicycle racks have been installed as well
The new pool management company, Carolina Pools, has done an outstanding job for us this season.  The pool is now closed for the season and new pool pumps will be installed for the 2009 season.

Our goal is to benefit and beautify our community.  As always your recommendations are welcome.

Looking forward to working with everyone in the coming year!
